The public in general has an insufficient
knowledge base of current women’s sports due to
under-reporting. There is a lack of exposure to and
understanding of the outstanding performances of the
athletes, coaches and teams. The results are viewed
in the public’s impression of women’s athletics
as marginal, not really popular or worthy of newspaper
and television coverage. This impression is further
accentuated by placing articles about women’s
sports toward the back of the sports section and seldom
on the front sports page or news. Join us for networking
amongst supporters of women in sports and dialog on
how we can support girls and women through community
involvement and on the professional sports level. Please

Leaving another birthday behind
- one mile at a time…
Monique is celebrating with the 2005 Nike Women’s
Marathon in San Francisco, CA. Monique will be participating
in the marathon on behalf of children in the state of
Georgia living with Leukemia & Lymphoma. This marathon
is sponsored by Nike for The Leukemia & Lymphoma
Society on October 23, 2005. This race was closed a
while back with 15,000 women signed up to do 13.1 or
26.2 miles. This 26.2 miles celebration will be extra
special for Monique because it’s her last sporting
event before her birthday.
Monique was able to fund this trip from your purchase
of her women’s motivational journal. Please continue
to share with your friends about the journal and Monique
will continue doing great things to help others.
Monique sincerely thanks all of you for your continued
support through the years. Together, we will embrace
the years ahead!
Keep looking ahead…
